Wow, what a response. Thanks to all who sent me their seed lists, I have around 50 lists so far with thousands upon thousands of entries so please forgive me if I don't thank everyone individually. Fortunately most are in Excel format so merging hasn't been so bad so far. I'm guessing we will end up with 3000-4000 pumpkins in our database and I'm hoping to roll out version 1.0 in a month or so. I have the basic structure built and most of the queries so it's mainly just cleaning up data. I will keep you updated.

Look forward to seeing it. Sounds like you know your Excel. I think excel would be a great way to distribute as I believe it is a fairly common application. I know a few excel tricks if you get stuck. I would be happy to look at an early beta version if you want feedback.

I'm cleaning up the data in Excel but the finished product will actually be done in MS Access complete will family trees and progeny etc etc. Good basic info that will suffice for the majority of growers but it definitely will not be the powerful tool the AGGC is.
