I'm planning on growing two plants this year but I can't seem to make up my mind on which two plants to grow, here is my list of seeds-

873.5 Moss 2001
766 Davies 2003
766 Swarts 2003
723 Alberts 2003
386 Swarts 2003

If you could help me out picking the two seeds that will make the next world record it would be great:-)

- Thanks,
Ryan

Big Kahuna 25

Ontario, Canada.

All these seeds are unproven. The 766 Davies has good genetics though.

just to let you know my 386 was only 51 days old and the second pumpkin on that plant. The other pumpkin went 521 lbs. My 766 was 65 days old it went 2 weeks with beter than 20 lbs a day gain. I thought some inside info would help you make up your mind. Todd Swarts

Out of those seeds, im liking the 873.5 Moss (yes its multiple pollinators, but how can you gow wrong with an 869.5 calai, or an 801.5 stelts as a pollinator?), and im also liking the 766 Swarts too. Of course i have no idea what the cross on the 386 or the 723 is though. I guarantee you can make a good arguement for just about any seed out there though, so take my opinions for what they're worth! LOL

Todd, as a loosely based rule of thumb, we're looking to hit say a minimum of 300lbs by day 30 for something "big". For something world record, probably bigger at that time frame. My 1030 taped out at 482lbs at day 30. Some grow quickly early on, some keep growing forever. Just wanted to give you some sort of frame of reference.

the 766 Davies and 723 Alberts are both noce crosses. The 766 is an 803.4 Davies x 845 Bobier, the 723 is 845 Nesbitt x 735 Pukos.

the only one i have any knowledge of is the 723 Est. Alberts---the guy that later had to move the pumpkin with his tractor said it was so heavy his tractor was darned-near maxing-out trying to. and he has to move a lot of pumpkins! so i think it has some heavy genes going on in there. and i hope a little color comes into play from the Nesbitt...................eric
