I was given a 666 greer seed by a friend of mine whom is a relative of the late Bill Greer. This seed was grown from an 881 Dill (98) and polinated with the 946.5 Geerts (96).

After all these years of sitting in a sock drawer, this seed germinated right away and is taking off.

I am just looking for opinions on this seed and the genetics that created it. Does anyone think that it could be a good one?

Any thoughts??

The late Bill Greer? Gosh, I didn't even hear. Sorry about that. Alex.

How about the 881 Dill '98 and the 946.5 Geerts '96?? Anything huge off these seeds and what did they look like? I imaging that the 881 Dill was a nice orange round fruit but do not know.

Anybody??

the 946.5 Geerts is a popular seed. It grew the 865 Mettler, 1009.5 Eaton, 1010 Mackenzie 98, 1056 Stellpflug, and lot of others. The 865 Metter was a cream color and a average looking fruit, not long, not tall, but as we all know is one great pollinator when hooked up with the 935 Lloyd by Bill Bobier.
AGlite has 3 fruit from the 881 Dill all in the 600 lb range including your 666 Greer.

Thanks for that input. Just what I wanted to know and now I can plan to pollinate my greer with lineage as close to the 935 as possible (which I do have thanks to some generous local growers)Thanks again Gordon.
