Has anyone here tried, or is trying, seed of the 845 Bobier sibbed or selfed. There are a few of these out there such as the 1100 Bobier, 950.4 Boyton, 922 Kurkowski, etc.
If so, what results did you get, or are you getting? What do you expect from this cross?
What do you think a good seed to cross with the 845 Bobier sibbed or self, would be?

Last year I grew the 821 Garrell. It started out great (the fruit) with very nice growth. I then had the main rot about 3 ft. out from the stump and growth went way down from there. The plant itself was extremely healthy and vigorous. The leaves were huge. This plant was also very heat tolerant.

You need to watch out for the 821 Garrell! It will sometimes throw a very nice looking GREENIE. I grew one last year and it was a squash and grew 2 fruits off it. The first one was selfed and went 490 lbs and the other one was very late set and did not have much time to grow big and ended up at 229.5 lbs. It was pollinated with the 703 Smith*. There was also a couple other growers grew squash on it also, but I don't know how big they got.
The plant was a very good grower here in the heat for us. I have been thinking about growing it again to see if we can get lucky a second time and get another squash off it.

i copied this from another section that i typed out:

i got a 950.4 that is doing quite well, i pollinated it on the July 1st and it got pretty big pretty quickly.
it is right now a little over 400 pounds, but it has a lot of growth left in it and i'd be happy to just break my PB
of 728.5. thing is, with the 845 Bobier '00, i have noticed that the fruit doesn't seem to put on all of its weigh until the last couple of weeks, for ME anyweigh, so i am hoping the 950.4 has the same tendency, being an 845 selfed.
to all:
i STRONGLY suggest that if you have a 950.4, plant it next season! after all, it DID grow a 1032 Perez in Spain! eric
