Ok This Year my Best Plant Grown in my patch is the
1178 L Wentzel 900 L Wentzell -Female 735 Pukos -Male
To date at 14 Days from pollination the fruit is 80 " OTT and with the warm weather sticking around I hope it makes at least the 150 LB mark come end of Sept.
I had a bad year, allot of people did, This is my first year growing AG'S so id like to grow my own seeds if possible next year because Ive seen what these seeds produce.
my questions is.
IF i only get an 100lber this year does that ruin the gean of the seed? like will this seed always grow small pumpkins or could it POP a 1000 lber next year under proper growing conditions from an 100 lb year before seed?
Thanks Dave

as long as your pollinations were controlled and there was no chance of contamination from "foreign" pollen, you can certainly grow those seeds next year and probably do great with them. you might wanna dream a little, though, and show up at an auction or two and get another seed you have heard good things about. there are so many. that weigh, if your own cross doesn't do so well, the other one might...eg

Yup I plan on growing 2 plants from my own seed in 2005 along with 4 other plants. starting May 2005 i'll have 6 plants in total in the expanded patch 2 of my own and 4 from others that did well in 2004 and by june i plan on culling down to 4 best plants growing.
if everything works out as planned, I'll have 2 patches in 2005. one in my own yard and another out in the country were the soil is AWSOME and that patch which we will call patch # 2 will home 10 plants with tons of acres to grow !!
