Just trying to find out who has grown any Beachy Seeds and "Which Ones"? What have they done for you and how was the plant, strong, weak, big or small plant? Has anyone grown Beachy seeds that others have not, like some of his genetic crosses or seeds from some of his smaller pumpkins. Let us know.
I have grown the 237 this year and it has been a great plant, very aggressive grower with big leaves. Hopefully it will keep growing the pumpkin that is on it for a while longer and it will get over the 600-LB mark. It has lasted better than all the other plants we have and keeps on trying to put on new fruits even now. This plant just doesn't want to give up. We had a problem having to do with the weather, hit ALL our plants at the same time, around the first part of July that stopped higher daily gains or it would be a monster now. I am looking at a couple other Beachy seeds for next year. How about you, what Beachy Seeds do you like?

808 and 501.5 here. The 808 is a nice plant much like the 869.5 nice Pumpkins on it. We will see come October if it produces that beautiful orange I like. 501.5 in April's patch does not seem super agressive. Good healthy plant nice striped fruit like the others I have seen grown off it.

I'm growing the 588 Beachy 00. It's a large plant with smaller sized leaves. The fruit is tall and round. It is orange and deep ribbed, a nice looking fruit that will top out about 300lbs for me.

Hi Thomas. Im growing to 501's this year, both are mediocre due to my stupidity early season. Both could be great had i not made the mistakes. Obviously the 1097 is one to keep an eye on, as well as a bunch of others. I dont know of a "bad" beachy seed yet.

We grew a 538 Beachy as a fair plant this year. We cut it off over a month ago at ~300 lbs.

To make room for my main plants we had to whack leaves back earlier than planned. The last couple weeks of growth was completely from the root system as we had cut back all leaves.

It was a fast/early grower that was very heat resistant. Great plant, just didn't have room to grow any longer without interfearing with the main plants. In retrospect, it should have been one of the 'main' plants.

I am growing the 1097.5 this year. The plant itself is unimpressive with smaller and shorter leaves than anything else in the patch or what I typically have. The fruit on it is not though as it is the largest in the patch at this time and very tall and blocky. It does have a stem split that goes about 2" deep into the fruit, howver it has not changed at all since the split occurred. It was set earlier than any of the other pumpkins and has slowed considerably, as have all of mine since the weather has turned cooler and wetter, but if I can get growth that matches my average for this late in the season through this month it will give me a new personal best. The color of the fruit is a medium orange and the skin is getting rougher and cantalouping at the shoulders. I expect I will grow this one again next year.

Hey, When did this get started? LOL I think I have a few in this year. Hope everyone's expectations are being held this year on the seeds of ours that you all are growing.

I have a Beachy Cross #3 which had an estimated weight of 658# (320"OTT) yeaterday. I hope it will be 800# by October 2nd. I also am growing a 1097.5 Beachy which measures 302.5"OTT (558.5 lbs est.). I also am growing a 683 Beachy which was a very late set (June 24th) and is 271" OTT (405# est). I hope that the 1097.5 makes 800 lbs and that the 683 makes 700 lbs. The Beachy Cross #3 is a great plant. The 1097.5 also is a really good plant. The 683 was prone to the main vine breaking (several times) early...it was almost too big and thick for its own good.
