Of course! How else are the most popular seeds discovered? I'll be planting a few of my 905 (898 x 1260) in an effort to prove its ability. Funny how the largest pumpkin I have grown every year for the last 4 has been off an uproven seed......................

Brooks - A great case in point is Jack LaRue. He planted quite a few unproven seeds in '04 and had stellar results.

In most cases he did the prooving. You'll see come '05 how many others will follow Jack's lead.
Three majors that I can think of off the top of my head are:
1180 Daletas
1133 Dermers
1104 Hester

Look at the genetic background of these crosses and you will see why they were choosen.

I'll be giving my 459 White 04 seed a shot next year.
It's a 790 Daletas x 419 Pukos. Who knows?

I'll also try Martin's 801.5 Stelts x Self if he's kind
enough to send me a few.

Will keep you all updated in my diary.

845 Bobier and 898 Knauss seem to have a profound effect on unproven seeds.

Came across these at the local weigh-off, from a local grower, Darren Sturch;

578 Sturch 03 (842 Eaton X self)
569 Sturch 03 (1058 Sandvik X 842 Eaton)
451 Sturch 03 (1172 Greer X 1058 Sandvik)

I'll be trying at least one next year, just hope I can do it justice.

Lawnman, that 842 x self cross looks pretty tasty. I have seen a few 842 grow light though, I cant say if it was the growers or if thats all the gas the seed had init. Who knows?

Ya, looks good to me, I'm going to try to corss it into Mike Frantz's 1083 to get the genetics of the Eaton line with some Jutras thrown in there for colour. I'd like to use the 569 above so that I've got some local genes in there as well in the Sandvik. However, I also like some of the genetics Steve (Tremor) sent me... choices... choices...
