Hello,
I sent my soil off last week to Penn State Below are results. My plot is ruffly 1350 sq ft. ph 6.9 All results Lb/area----phos 1511 potash 965 magnesium 976 calcium 10679 organic 10%
cec- meq/100gram-----k-1.0 mg 2.5 ca 19.2 cec 18.5
%cec k-5.6 mg 13.3 ca 81.2
copper 7.45 mg/kg iron 219 mg/kg manganse 113 mg/kg zinc 15.99 mg/kg
I am going to put manure on and compost from city dump. Some of my amounts are really high, do I need to put anything else on to lower levels or just retest in spring?
Thanks Tim I was able to grow a 225 pumpkin this year. Had alot of trouble with stem splits.

The potash is a little low when compared to that Calcium but the manure should balance this out. It isn't deficient though that's for sure.
Leaf compost a some manure this all should do it. Just go easy on the manure &/or try to use older manure. Fresh stuff brings more Nitrogen than you probably need with 10% OM.

Tss, beware of compost from city dump...it might not be bad...but...ask for analysis before you start pilin it in yer patch,,,watch out for high Potassium and Boron...too much is bad stuff...I got it from local landfill last year without analysis and suffered for it. It might be okay, just ask to see the analysis first?? They should have test results in their file cabinet. If they dont have it, ask them to have it done. Peace, Wayne
