So I got a soil test done this past spring (first time that I ever did this) and the soil was in pretty good shape. Do people usually see major changes in the soil over one season? I was wondering if it was worth it to get another test done now in the fall... thanks!

Pete,
Yes man i would do a soil test this fall.
your soil can take a beating during the growing season
it always good to know what's in your soil.

I have to agree with Ed. While major shifts in pH aren't expected, the nutrient levels need to be monitored.

Potassium & Calcium get depleted from growing AGs. Sometimes very much-so. Get the soil test. It's good insurance.

if i could only afford to do one thing, and had to choose between ammending my soil based on professional advise or getting a new tiller or sprayer id choose the soil.

i can not stress enough the lessons ron and i learned over the years.

once you get that soil messed up be it to much organic, hard pan, imbalance, to high a ph, chemical ferts( salt ),disease, etc, your finished, and may as well either quit or get a new patch.

working with professionals ,listening and taking there advise is priceless.

Paps, Guess that soil test is the most important so one knows what one needs to concetrate the buckage on, if one needs to increase the OM to 10% cuz its at 5-6 now add manure? Kelp Meal? Coffee grounds? Spagnum Peat? Other? Or all of the above
