I recently purchased two 50 pound bags of a soil conditioner that contain 20% humic acid. My patch is a little less than 1500 sq.ft. and I was planning on adding the full 100 lbs. If that equates to 20 lbs. of humic acid, will that be too much humic acid? Any opinion will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Charlie

I would think that a humus test would be in order before any assement of your requirements could be given.

New dirt low OM then yes,, you may profit from adding it,,older dirt with established content this might not be the "magic bullet" that so many are seeking.

I would take the name of the product you got and do a web search of the company that made the brand you bought. Check see what they say as to how much to add per 1,000 square feet.

the product i use is 65% humic acid with an application rate of 6-10 pounds per 1000sq feet.
however i wonder what the other 80% of contents are ?

The product is made by Gro-Power. I'ts 5% North American Sea Kelp, 75% concentrated humus and 20% humic acid. Thanks for all your help. Charlie
