Russ,
You should be experimenting with H2O2 and CO2...

Yeah, I know I'm into all sorts of things. Really I drive my wife nuts with this obsession. Today I'm reading about crop trapping and places to by Squash Vine Borer lures.

I went to Bass Pro today and all I could think about was where in the heck is the gardening stuff. I walked by the hunting area and thought maybe I could use a paintball gun to nail the little bastards.

I came across the glomalin link a few days ago. It was very interesting.

LOL........Tomorrow morning I will be into something else. After six years of this there is still so much to learn.

I enrolled in university this week and decided to take some horticultural courses so at least I'm getting some focus.

I have been working wot H202 this past month and my plans are to try at least one hoop house with co2 in the spring.

Ah, I really must be a nut case. But what ever anyone thinks I truly love this stuff and BP.com.

Geeze Joe, My size is already exceeding the growth rates in the new 2008 OTT benchmarks. If I apply any more effort to increase my size I'm gonna explode!

I know what you mean. The scientist in me just keeps asking why??? There is a wealth of information available out there for more traditional ag crops... What we attempt to do with pumpkins is truly a science of its own. BP.com is the cooperative.
If I where actually trying to increase my size I to would certianly be at a personal best!!

Russ, check out http://www.greatlakesipm.com the have tons of good stuff.

More specifically: http://www.greatlakesipm.com/other.html

There you will find the following pheremone: SQUASH VINE BORER PB-SVB

Used in a bucket trap. They sell an SVB kit which includes the trap and scent.

I caught around 8-10 in my trap last year, so they work.

Of course, they only catch males, but at least you know when to start spraying. I don't think there is anything to catch the females.

Sorry to hijack this thread so baddly.

Thanks for the links Jordan.

Joe, I know a funny errrrr scary story about a greenhouse and co2 that I heard from one of our Ontario growers recently. He barely made it out alive from the lack of o2. His bottom line read "Pumpkins Can Kill". True story and very scary..........
