Well as the leaves and vines die back this time of year you can begin to see the floor of the patch once again. As I looked over the patch I noticed a good amount of Moss growing on the surface of the soil? I figured this is probably from the 3-4 months of shade created by the leaf canopy but I also wondered if it could be a indication of a acidic soil ph? My spring soil test put the soil at 7.1ph.Do other growers experience moss in their patch at the end of the season?

moss does like the shade and dampness and acidity...also likes no iron and soil compaction.
