I am getting ready to spread and till in composted manure. I was wandering if spreading apples over the entire patch and tilling them in also would hurt anything ?
I have 8 apples trees that are LOADED this year and thought that instead of letting them rot on the ground, maybe they would help the soil some. My PH is good,6.9.

actually if your apple trees are like my pear trees with the damn bugs always getting at a big portion of the fruit and they fall to the ground already rotten then I don't think it would hurt anything to till them into the patch. my pear trees are right next to my patch and there are always pears rotting on the dirt closest to the trees and I've never observed any detrimental effects, except for the abundance of bees, yellow jackets and wasps that like eating them. They don't bother me though, I can stomp on the fruit they were eating and they would just buzz around like F@*&#%!!! and go back to eating. lol

Thanks for the replies everyone. I actually forgot to check on my post thats why I am replying now. I will spread them out when the weather cooperates. If it ever dries out enough I will till them in. Lee
