I sent out my soil tests a few weeks ago and have gotten no results back. When will it be to late to do my amemdments. I've already spoke to a man that will be able to roto till my patches. I'm worried that I wont be getting the winter rye to germinate in time and the ground will freeze before I get the results back!.

Hi Kenny
Use UMASS next time. They take 2-4 weeks to get you the results. Very good place. here's a link http://www.umass.edu/plsoils/soiltest/

2-4 weeks for results sounds like a long time to me. I sent my soil sample to A&L Labs by next day postal service and got my results in 3 days.

Whoever you are using, I would switch to A&L Labs. As NSB said, two to three days turnaround time max. If you give them an email address they will email you the results as soon as they are complete. I mailed my dirt to them Saturday.

I was not impressed with the Great Lakes A&L. I asked for recommendations for AGs and they just gave me a generic set of recommendations which was really no help.

I actually sent my soil test out about 2 weeks ago. I was refered by a member of bigpumpkins. Originally I was going to send tit to Umass but decided to give a distant farm the buisness. I sent another sample to Umass and they said 3 to 4 days after they recieved it. so I'll wait on it. I'm not making any judgements I'm sure that this Farm is doing their best to make sure I get what I paid for. No judgements, Everyone just wants to get their soil out and set the ammendments in....
