Im ashamed to say I have no clue what any of this means.

you can call a&L labs and they will tell you what you need to add to your soil and how much you need.what you need to do is balance your soil.om is low .

I believe your CEC is 6.49; potassium(k)6%; magnesium(mg)13%; calcium (ca) 81%.
I really like those numbers,wished mine looked that good. The only thing I would do is raise your Organic Matter(add about 3 inches).
Join a club near you. You'll get a lot of info from them.

also pH should be 6.8 to 7.2

I'm sorry, I did the numbers thinking your pH was near 7.
However, your pH is 5.6. Maybe someone here can tell you how to raise your pH without raising your; k,mg,ca

So its not totally horrible? I was afraid since its been a lawn for the last 50+ yrs that the results would say 'just give up' haha

Thanks Kurty, you've made me feel much better :) I wish there was a club near here but I cant find one within 500 miles, but for the great people on BP, Im flying solo.

Roger, the lab gave me a few suggestions, I just wanted second opinions from the experts here :)

I really appreciate ya'lls advice and help. Im so far out of my league its mind boggling. Heck I never even had a garden until last year and Im not sure that counted since part of it was in a flower bed! haha Oh well everyone has to start somewhere I guess :)

I am not a expert , but our acid soil has to be changed.
It took 2 years to get my ph up to 7.0 I would put down some lime. How much depends on how much area your growing. It takes months to change ph. It will also add calcium. pumpkins love lots of calcium. Try this till the lime starts http://www.aggrand.com/lime.aspx. Did you get giant pumpkins III book? Page 116 bottom left of page gives basic guidelines. Hope this helps Kreig

Thanks Kreig, I dont know how I missed your post til now. I have book 3 and I went back and re-read page 116.. I gotta admit I looked a lot like the guys on page 117! lol My patch is only 25x25 so I'll be adding about 50 lbs of lime this weekend :)
