For the first time EVER I got to plow something other than SNOW in March!!! I expanded my patch to 45 x 100. I was pleased to see how black and friable the patch soil was from last year. I mold board plowed lengthwise, and then again widthwise. After it drys down s few days, I'll till with a tractor mounted rototiller to break up the chunks and even it out. After that I'll ammend the soil and work it up with a BCS tiller. The new areas will get lots of compost over the early summer until the plants grow out to them.

Ben, what model is your BCS tiller, we have had one for over 15 years...works like charm and demands to be worked! We've also have 3'sickle bar attachement that will knock down 1" shrubs like butter. Our is an older BCS715 10Hp ACME motor.

First time ever for me to get the ground all worked up and a cover crop planted. Even my soil test sent out.
