It seems like its so difficult to know the amounts to put in the soil. How do they do it? Also during the season does anyone pretest the soil midseason?

sure Tom, What about adding gypsum can I add this stuff without messing with the soil I have some hard compacted soil that I've tried to addresss over the last few weeks adding a truck load of sand and deep tilling. Still I have drainage issues. Gypsum seems to help break up the hard clay.
