Hi all. My soil is pretty high on nutrient value. The only main problem is that the soil is a heavy clay. How can I turn the clay soil into sandy loan without taking out the soil and keep my budget under $200?

Liquid gypsum is a good start. It helps break up clay and is a soil conditioner. I had heavy clay soil and it has really helped me. Also tilling in compost etc high in organic matter will help. There is no quick fix, but you can work on it over time.

Organic Matter lots of it. Lots of double digging. Plan on it taking several years

City compost for the cost. plus clay is a good place to start. it will hold it nutrients. as you add compost for a couple of years it will become clay loam. careful adding sand. until you get your organic up.

Darren is right, try and find a local source for a compost blend (manure/compost blend) and go from there.

The compost I use has a percentage of sand to accomodate our regions high rainfall and assists with drainage.

I posted this link for you last time you were looking for compost/manure....did you even check it out?
