Was wondering if adding Compost is just as good as adding Horse manure in fall as the compost is already broken down. What is the advantages and disadvantages of doing this by adding in fall and spring. Will adding large amounts of compost help to lower ph like manure and will it add to the organic matter of your patch. Thanks, T

the more material you can get going in the fall cow- horse or compost into the soil the farther ahead you be for the spring-because it will be started to being broke down -- you can give it another shot in the spring--remenber to super charge with some fish molasses and some symbex and till it in - dont put any horse in if it hasnt sat at least a year two is better --a horses stomach doesnt kill the weed seed---craig
