I am getting ready to begin to build my patch up for next year and want to add more manure than last year. My question is, where can I get 30 to 60 yards of manure (preferably horse or cow) in the Greater Hartford area of Connecticut? I would prefer if it could be delivered but if I can initially find a place that has what I am looking for I am willing to work out a plan from there. Any contacts or information that can be provided would be appreciated. :-)

We're in Stratford. To find a Fairfield County dairy farm, I called the local Agway (who happens to be a customer & friend) and asked him. They sell the few remaining dairy & horse farms with feed, fence supplies & other stuff. So he knew where these guys are.

You can check for Agways in the phone book. Or you might try Crop Production Services in Broad Brook CT.

John Deary who is partners in this website lives up that way too. So maybe he'll chime in when he sees this post.

If all else fails, send me an email. I know the folks at DEP in Hartford & someone there should know.

Steve

Just look in the the "trucking or hauling" section of your yellow pages. Most transportation companies list what they haul like sand, topsoil, fill, manure ect....
