The addition of manure and gypsum ( contains sulfer) has lowered the PH in my patch to 6.4. How much lime is needed per 1000 sf to raise the ph to 7.0. It is anticipated that more manure will be added.

Thanks everyone

Depends on the soil's CEC & the depth of till. But a rule of thumb for clay loam is around 200 lbs per 1000 sq ft tilled.

Winter rains may also lower the pH. Be sure to check it again in the spring....you might be surprised!
