Well Dec is just around the corner and its been close to
2 months since ive double dug my soil and added all the goodies , I would like to send in a soil sample to make sure my soil is headed in the correct direction from additives.. Problem is the top surface of the soil is rock hard frozen how would i go abouts of takeing a good soil sample to send in

Break the surface with a prospectors hammer if the soil is only frozen the first inch or so. A standard soil probe can also be hammered right through the frozen surface for a more reliable sampling. But from experience, the handle usually gets flattened pretty badly.

Thanks, Took samples and sent them in,, test results to come to see if i'm headed in right direction or not
