I'm a science teacher writing a botany book for 10 to 12 year olds called "The Pumpkin Project" to interest them in plants. It's full of puzzles, investigations, projects, fun facts and recipes about pumpkins. I'm also including short interview stories about various aspects of growing pumpkins.

One of the stories is about growing giant pumpkins in various parts of the world. I'm trying to contact someone in Australia who grows giant pumpkins who is willing to answer about a dozen questions for me.

My own preference is pie pumpkins as I like to eat them as do my goats. This year I'm trying to grow a giant pumpkin for the first time providing the seeds sprout.

I'm located in south central Missouri, USA. I write on nature, science and dairy goats and have a few articles published. I'm not online at home so I may be slow to answer. Thanks for your help.

Keeper, scroll thru diaries section (current & past years) here on bp.com...looking (of course) for growers from Australia. When you find one...go to top of that diary, and click on the lil envelope, (connects you to said growers email), and then ask away!!! Hope this helps!!! Peace, Wayne
