I was just wondering who might be taking a pumpkin to the fair. I may not make it to weigh off, so thinking of taking it there instead.

Brad , The Dixie Classic is a weighoff certified Platform scale, and ag inspector, they weigh them right when you roll up, and but bring some thing to put them on if your going they have to stay there 10 days they put them inside a hard wooden holding area for viewers, i had a couple there last year i had one sold nice orange 487, but on that hard surface for 10 days started to rot, were the hardwood met the pumpkin, but got the seeds out of it, Wallace i think one year his had a total melt down day before fair, but it was weighed, and got 1st, but nobody got to see it. Now i was told this is it true? never asked . Dont know yet if i'll go or not yet, they dont go by green or orange heavist wins, my SQ has a big ass split in it im trying to heal .but doesnt look good. Rog

The 720 Simmons was taken down to the Dixie Classic Fair on Wednesday and was displayed until a week later, when Fair personnel contacted him that it had developed a leak. Wallace returned to the Fair, after it had been displayed for 7 days and removed it with the Fair's personnel with him.

The Dixie Classic Fair is like any other Fair or Weigh-off, it would not have accepted a pumpkin if it wasn't sound.
