It will be at the Virginia State Fair in Richmond. It's located at the Richmond Raceway Complex. The date is September 30th. I believe registration is between 10:00am and 11:00am. The weigh-off starts at 12:00 noon.

I should have 1 around #400 if it holds up ,calling for some cold nights. I will be there even if without a pumpkin. Just wondering if pumpkins will be unloaded by hand and how much help you need when picking up the following week? Look forward to meeting everyone. Barry

Barry they unload with a forklift. now loading your pumpkin after the fair can be real funnnnn. most of the growers meet late Sunday night 9:30 after the fair to give each other a hand loading. You have until noon monday to pick up your pumpkin or the fair dumps your pumpkin. Monday's are not bad just have to wait for a forklift. If you wait till monday get there early around 9 or so. Jim the biggie last year was only 757 something like that. I think the deadline was Sept 8. Jim & Robin ooopps Barry just kidding Barry shoot me a email if you have time.

You have to enter a fruit 22 days ahead of time not even knowing if you'll have one alive to bring at the end of the month? What is it with these F'in fairs??? Guess I'm going to Altoona assuming they'll let me. Jim

Orangeneck, they just need to submit a registration form early, then you bring your pumpkin in on the morning of the 28th.
