Ok I need your help,,,we need some rain here so bad. It has been so smoky outside from the georgia/florida fires here over the last couple of days. You can smell the wood burning! My roads are sandy and I feel like I'm driving at the beach. I can water my plants for 2 hours and put my hand 6 inches down and it's dry, dry, dry....so when you say you're prayers tonight...pray for rain!

Ally, we are in dire need of rain here in ATL too. All of the Southeast is on my prayer list! And we have been getting smoke from the fires here 2-3 days a week for the past couple of weeks.

I'm using old straw as mulch around my pumpkins and on my tomatoes I use 3-4 sheets of newspaper topped with straw at planting.

Here in Virginia we are beginning to hit the dry stage also. It's been 16 hot, dry days here since any rain. Hopefully Tropical Storm Barry will bring some relief.

Ally:

From the Atlanta weather reports you might be getting rain today. I certainly hope you are getting part of this tropical storm.

If so prayer works.

Best of Luck:

We have had rain the past couple of days and it has done nothing but good for my plants. I have some straw around them and the sand seems to help hold it in with the humidity now. Have to go back to watering today but I think if I keep it moist, it will stay moist. Going to get my mini monster covered today. It's growing like a charm and it's really a pretty pumpkin. Hope it holds up in this south georgia heat. I have some "Ice" gallons in the freezer for those sunstroke days, which we have alot of. Thanks for the prayers and advice...I think the man up above is giving me a helping hand this year. I'm so glad I didn't ignore him ALL of the time. Spraying regularly and no bugs in sight. Just going to do the best I can and hope for a great outcome. Hugs to All!

Tremor

Ctpumpkin@optonline.net

We pulled a few inches out of Barry. Once the rain stopped the skies cleared. Darn fool BOE cancelled all after school programs yesterday on the threat of afternoon tornadoes. Fools forgot to call me so Stephen was stuck at his school with one other kid for 2 hours with me here in the office just a mile down the road. Never a cloud in the sky during that entire time. LOL

Grow well Ally!
