I just sent seeds to a friend who lives in S.C. zip code 29678. He has never grown before and has no idea of when to start or how to grow. Can any one from down that way offer any advice as in when you start, dealing with the heat, etc. This is for '08. Thank You

29678. Hmm, Seneca, SC. That's where I get my irrigation supplies. He might look into a good misting system for starters, dealing with our heat. A shade cloth wouldn't hurt either. Although he can plant as early as March or April the plant stress from both heat and humidity really shortens the number of days our fruit will continue to grow. This means he can also plant as late as July. Hint, hint. If he has a patch ready there is still time to have a couple fruit just in time for Halloween. Good luck to you both, BF

Hello, I live in Carrollton, Ga. 50 miles west of Atlanta. In 2005 I planted a seed on July 23rd and got a 400 lb. one in Oct. So there is still time like Brian said. Doug Jn 3:16.
