I live in middle Georgia. Was wondering if anyone knew about when to start seeds indoors, for this area. Would like to have them ready for October but would rather them grow during the most benificial period. Most of the tips I've found on the subject is from northern growers. Would greatly appreciate any advise from local growers. Thanks

Around the 20th to 30th of April here in Virginia so I would think now would be about the right time in Georgia.

You can plant pretty much any time. You can plant as late as late June and still get a decent pumpkin. There's no need to start the seeds indoors in Georgia in my opinion.

In Atlanta, I'm going to wait until April 20th. I'm going a bit earlier than last year so I might have a second chance if disaster strikes early.

Yep, I'd say about now is right for you.

Stevann, I will be filin, and soakin for Nancy...about the 1st of May!!! Give or take 10 days or so!!! Hope this helps!!! LOL Seriously...60 days of plant growth, before pollination, and then anywhere from 80 to 100 days of pkn growth (prbly closer to 80 in our climate)...count backwards from weighoff date, and that is your starting date!!!
PS...the KGPG is counting on you, and a bunch o other folks, to bring a SLUNGER to Nancy, to help us be a GPC award winner this year...Most Improved Site!!!
Peace, Wayne
