Looking forward to see you the day after tomorrow in Ludwigsburg at the so-called European Championship. I hope I will be able to leave the Rockfabrik in time in order to enter our pumpkins.

All the best to all the growers who will be there!

Ludwigsburg is a farce. The European record is the 1233 Reiss 05, even he is destroied under the cover of night.

Hans-Werner, Ludwigsburg is not a farce. A farce is what the Europeans are making out of nothing. It does not matter what someone calls their weigh off, what matters is how a grower feels about their efforts. What also matters are the weights that we see coming from all over Europe. I do not care what they call the weigh off in Ludwigsburg, if a grower in London, or Kasterlee at a local weigh off has a pumpkin that is the heaviest weighed that year, then it is the European Champion, I think we all know that. I am going and I will have a great time.

As far as your comment about the 1233.5 Reiss, one should never make a judgement, until you have walked in anothers shoes. That was a great accomplishment, and I am personally ashamed of some of the things I have read and heard about it from other giant pumpkin growers, from all over the world, not just Europe.

My hat is off to Martin, job well done.

Owen, I never made a judjement about that, also not in an answer of the messages I've got. I only startet a question about UOW and have to read things about "psychic hotline" and "believe or not".
And Yes, each can do with his pumpkin what he want, but I'm ashamed that a 1200+ Pumpkin in Germany is nothing more worth as to trough em in the trash as soon as possible. But I told each who ask me about that, I've nothing to do with.
And what did I ment with "farce", for me it is'nt the real result what will be shown in Ludwigsburg, it´s not the 1233 it's only a replacement.
No, I will not degrade the 1008. Its a great result, ideed.
