Is it harder to sprout squash seeds than pumpkin seeds??? Just wondering because ive been having a harder time with my squash seeds than pumpkins.

my competition squash was the first one for me this year, but probably because it was a white seed. those seem to be slightly quicker.

in my opinion, they're just a different color. like a blond and a brunnette. so the seeds really shouldn't be any different in germinating.

Hmmm, blond and a brunnette...I'm guessing that the brunette would be a lot quicker (LOL)

On a serious note, I started a *695 Landry and it germinated in about 17 hrs (advanced starting method). Couldn't believe how fast it germinated!

Ok...I caved to green, my kid wants to grow a "Hulk pumpkin" (will be a small plant though)

I'm having trouble this spring getting them to break the surface. Nice to hear the 695* squash is doing well.

I started 4, 695 Landry 04 pumpkins this past weekend.
794 McCallum x 709 McCallum. They all germinated very quickly. Some of them seam to pop real fast and others just take more time.

My 552 Sherwood was my slowest to germinate and develop. All others were pumpkins

My 552 germinated in less then 24 hours more like 18, same with the 980

mh 552 germinated as fast as the rest (i use baggies). but it is the ONLY one still not up up above the dirt. sloooooooooooow and steady wins the race
