Is it typical for squash cots to have long stems out of the ground or are they getting long because I am too far away from the light source? My diary has pics; Thanks!

I think you answered your own question. You should have your light source as close as you can get it,as your plant grows ,ajust your light, also the number of hrs.your lights are on is important, 16 hrs. is a good lenght of time to have them on. Hope this helps. Terry

probably it, I was afraid i would burn the leaves with light; its been about 3 inches off the dirt and the leaves grew right to it; 15 watt flor. bulb.
