joel has been wr champion several years now with his 1486.6 greenie.
wondering out loud if this record will be broken this year?
russ certainly was well on his way when disaster struck.

know of at least one possible challenger. what have you guys heard?

ia have always wanted to grow a couple green squash but no its not me. i never tried yet.
im glad though to see more people getting interested in the green. my friend joe has been trying for a green jacket for several years now.
weather in ohio was not that great though this year.

If one of the big 996's goes heavy there is a chance that the record could fall. Last year Edwin's 996 went 29% heavy. Other 996's have gone 17% and 14% heavy, so it wouldn't be too crazy for a 400" 996 to go +10%, which would put it at 1490 pounds. That would do the trick.

Just this week I visited a squash from a 996 daughter that was taping over 1200 lbs. But I doubt it will go that many % heavy. Didn't do well on the thump test...lol
