the gr8 pumpkin

Norton, MA

I got this seed unexpectadly from a trade this year and had never heard of it. I have no picture of it. There is no * next to the end of the name so it's a pumpkin. But it comes from the 611.5 Hester* X the 900.8 Lyons* both strong consistant squash seeds so the genes are very much there. Do I grow it? Also if anyone has a picture that'd be nice. Thanks.

It was light colored, not a squash and considered exh due to a split into the cavity. It is on the AGGC with a picture if you look under Jack's name rather than by the pumpkin.

Not sure how consistant the 611.5 is for squash, most of it's offspring have been pumpkins as far as I know, and the 900.8 has been known to grow some orange ones.

The 611 is predominately a pumpkin producer, can't think of anyone letting me know about a squash coming off of it.
Jacks 969 was cream colored and pear shaped.

the 862 Hester from the same plant as the 611.5 also produced a 1064 pound pumpkin.

Tom, you want something weird?

Up until this year the biggest fruit the 611 and 862 had grown was 1064..... The 1064 La Rue from the 611 and the 1064 Needham from the 862.
