It’s been pretty dead on this board but I will ask anyway I have a rib on my squash that popped out or bulged out a week ago and it turned yellow tonite I uncovered it and the rib has more lite green on it .. now I know the rules if I were to take it to weigh off like that it would be a pumpkin .. my question is have any of you squash growers seen this and if so did it go back completely green ?

The squashes I've grown are always changing color, from light to dark, and as they age some bronze-green even. Don't count yourself out yet, because that area could change back to green, or it could cantaloupe over, and still be classified as a squash.

I always kept my squashes covered. In the late fall I removed the cover and they greened up. The degree of green is in the genetics. Good luck Jim
