It seems "NO". If memory serves, the Green Jacket was to be awarded for an all green squash that was officially weighed in at 1000 lbs or better.

For whatever reason, the 1086 Carlson-Petersen '04 is an EST.

What's the point in having the green jacket if nobody gets to wear it? It should be like the orange jacket, going to the largest sound fruit grown each year. It sounds pretty stupid to me to leave it in the closet until someone breaks the 1000# barrier or the moths eat it. Is it not going to be presented each year or is the one grower who breaks the 1000# barrier going to be the squash king forever.

Man...if I wasn't a so-called "green ambassador" I'd be busting on Tremor's memory all day long...LOL. The Green Jacket is awarded to the grower of the heaviest "all Green, Grey, or Blue Squash", also known by the non-botanical nickname "true green" fruit each and every year whether its 1000lbs or not. That lucky guy also gets the monster trophy to adorn his squash shrine at home for a full year, when it gets passed on to the newest biggest green squash grower -(should Razo not repeat.)
The plaque will go to whoever grows the first greenie over 1000lbs officially...no-one this year, unfortunately. But, don't worry....it won't go bad and you can win it next year ! There were a couple that estimated over 1000 that split/rotted or went light so IT CAN BE DONE !
That said, no announcement just yet on who wins....or at least no "official" announcement....lol.................G

We will be getting Steve Razo's Jacket ready....remember he is the first and by the looks of the Squash results 2005 will be better than ever with everyone trying to obtain the PLAQUE......choose your seeds wisely and see if you have what it takes to top the 1000 lb green wall.......wayne( yes I am alive :0))
