Was just wondering if useing this stuff would help or hurt any in 2005.

In May 2005 I plan on planting 4 plants at home in my
home patch. Would there be any benefits to covering the entire patch with landscape material and just sliceing holes out in the material were the plants will be grown.

This would help keep the soil warm and would also cut down on the number of weeds, Only downfall would be is i wouldnt beable to burry any of my vines and non of the vines would beable to root in to hold on for windy days unless every 3-4 ft i cut a section out and covered the vines just in that area so they could root themselfs in place.
anyone grow this way or have tried it and what were the results

I remember seeing a post about this earlier this year, and I think the general consensus was that the "cons" outweighed the "pros" (ie vine burying is more important).

"If planting is done in a well-prepared bed, weeds will seldom be a problem and can be controlled by hand-weeding or hoeing. Continue to remove weeds until the vines cover the ground. At this time, the dense foliage will shade out most weeds".
