Can you just respectfully decline a bid?! What kind of mix up happened? There were several that wanted Lot #10, including me.

Rog, if you will honor your bid, I will purchase the seed from you for $125 once you get it. We can't leave our boys from Utah hanging! They've been providing us with some excellent seeds.

Let me know Rog.

Jamie, I have replied to Gordon, and he understands.
The transcripts will show who the highest bidder was at the time, before my bid, That is the person who now has rights to the seeds. If it was you, it was at $85 or $90 going twice. No need to buy from me just contact Gordon, and get it. I would give it to you before i asked for my money back. it falls back to next highest bidder. As far as leaving Utah hanging come on now you know better than that! i havent kept any of the seeds this year that i have bought other growers higher up the pumpkin chain know this for a fact! And have recieved the seeds once i got them, but this is my personal choice. Gordon i'm sure can inform you if you, or the others you spoke about are interested.
at one point i was told i won the bid on 2 lots 1 of the lots i wasn't online at the time, so i made a Choice to back out of all thats all. Utah, and the seeds are great, but unfortunatly for me i have backed out of the auction. Its a 1st for me.

well I've never heard of anyone declining a winning bid after the fact. It's something that shouldn't be done. but Roger sent me an emails after the auction doing that. Then he sent me another email after that one. I mis-read the second one. so we both made mistakes. To me it all came down to ... I don't want to force a seed on someone who doesn't want it. So I replied that he didn't have to take it. Yes it is a strange situation and it was unfair to those who where at the auction bidding on that lot... I feel badly about that.

I also feel badly, and i'm truly sorry if i could reverse time i would.
My deepest appoligies to those biding, and it was unfair to them, and Gordon please give them the chance to bid on it i'm sure Ken would allow this exception on seed exchanges. this way all can have a restart on that lot.
I feel so bad, and i mean really bad, and i take full blame for the misunderstanding , and now know i'm done here at BP.com to my regret, and to those sending b- packs they will still be honored So i wish you all the best, and great growing! ive made mistakes, but this one all i can do is say it hurt to bad, and i say good bye, and good luck. Utah growers come spring expect a donation, and have a few steaks on me, And Gordon misread my e-mail for a very good reason, he's a stand up guy. Roger R, 12/18/06

someone call? B. WOFL-ley here! It's easy to get caught up in a fast moving auction. Especially at the UGPG's auction. That auctioneer was smooth... But enough about me...

If Gordon says we're good then we're good. I know for a fact that this has happened before and life goes on. Those seeds are worth $125. If you just asked if anyone would want at that price you would have a taker. It's easy to deal with. They send the money and they get the seeds. Almost like a proxie... uhhhem, I mean proxy bidder.

Auctions are still fun and it was good to have so many there for our start up association. Thanks all.

to Roger in the Dog House- again,
you are welcome back anytime. I think you just need to be a little more careful with your words and actions... I've been there and done that many times. I got booted of the mallorn list/had my email blocked from that site (before BigPumpkin.com was around) for all sorts of things- that was worse than anything you've done. as a friend of mine likes to tell ME... "we've all done stupid things"

Well if Gordon, Brent & the UPGP are happy, then there's no real reason to keep this thread going. Roger feels bad enough already & keeping this going isn't helping anyone. Let's just put it to rest & call it a night.

I'm only back just a little bit Gordon you have mail
1320- Utahs going to be honored if you were the highest bidder at the time you just got free seeds.

Thanks to who understood here it was complex i honor my bid, but the seeds need to be sent to the 2nd highest bidder i owe him that, and payment will be sent to Brent or gordon just tell me. It will be sent tommorrow overnight. if the seeds are sold i can match in any case.

Phil Thank you, and i still got that fantastic 926 oh yeah.

I'm not sure who the "thanks to those who understood" goes out to! Lisa said it best "perhaps a simple explanation of the misunderstanding would stop all the speculation."

I respect whatever it is that you may be doing to honor Utah, if you in fact do just that. Since more than one of us is beating up on you, why not share your honor with us?

I made an offer to buy lot 10 from you in the amount that you bid if only you paid for it... so I'm guessing that whatever "deal" you worked out didn't include cash.

It's not about being the back up bidder at all as far as I'm concerned. It's all about saying what you do then doing what you say. Therein lies the honor.

I promise to leave you alone if you'll clear the air in regard to Lot 10. Lay it out for all to see or privately to me at jlwexler@yahoo.com or call me 859-314-3413. Help me help you. While not a visionary, the possibility exists that your future auction bids might be rejected or silenced.

I do give you credit for publicly refusing the lot as it would have been easier to simply not send the cash or respond privately to Utah to opt out. This is the one thing that has puzzled me the most....I think you're trying to tell us something or perhaps trying to be a sacrificial lamb.

Please Rog, air it out.

Jamie
