I am looking for opinions and general discussion as to why you prefer either silent or live-format auctions.

Live auctions are FUN!!! Sometimes, (in silent auctions) when the closing time comes up, I am working, and therefore...well ya know!!! I am OUT!!! I vote live-format!!! At least then I know, upfront I don't have a chance. One, other way (if I am working) is proxy, bidding, I don't like, but have done it. Peace, Wayne

silent auctions are like watching paint dry sally.
people get more excited and involved with live auctions.

More silent auctions, its hard to get excited about a live auction when there is one every sat and sun all thru fall winter and spring, no variety, its like eating dry toast, bland after a while.

Some of the live auctions are like watching paint dry as well. If you get a slow auctioneer it might as well be silent. I just don't have 4 hours every Friday and Saturday to sit and watch an auctioneer try and milk 5 dollars more for 12 minutes on a 40 dollar seed. Silent is not a problem with me, at least you can target the seed you want in 5 minutes per day.
