just curious ever wonder what the total funding numbers generated from all the club auctions would be? sure would like to know but id go nuts adding all the numbers up. not interested in club numbers cause thats their business. id bet you would be amazed though at the grand total. goes to show you just how important these seeds and our hobby is to thousand of growers. pap

I know that without this site and the generous growers we would be giving out homemade ribbons and handshakes at our weigh off, not that there is anything wrong with that:0)

agree andy, the seed auctions & sales for the most part are the life blood for generating the largest part of club finances.
i know some clubs get a great deal by being sponsored fully by the event they are weiging-off at.county/city/state fairs, are a great situation for the most part.the bigger the fair the more disposable money they have to support a weigh-off. those situations are few and far between though. it can be done if your lucky and work hard at finding a big sponsor.
i know the sngpg feels fortunate to get a partial payback from frerichs farm which goes toward our prize payout and/or club management costing.definately though without auction proceeds and seed sales? our budget would be slashed way back.
bry thanks im curious.

This is an example of how integral auction results are to clubs. There is one club this year where their auction results is only half their payout for the weighoff. The rest of the money needs to come from somewhere, so dues, sponsorship and seed sales make up the rest of the total.
Then there is club patch tours, postage, newsletters, and other sundry expenses. Every club needs help. Do what you can to help your local club, whether it be packaging seeds for a promo, or manning a both at the fair/weighoff. Anything you do for a club helps it remain around that much longer. If bidding at an auction is your way to support a club thats great. Each item you help with keeps a club going that much longer.

Pap, and awl, I agree it will be a giant number of $'s!!! Lot's of small weighoff's, including the KGPG depend (almost totally) on seed auction for prize money!!! The KGPG does some product sales, and silent auctions, raffle at the growers seminar, to help pay for the growers seminar, but bulk of funding, for prize structure comes from seed auction!!! 3/3/12 by the way!!! PS...anyone wanting/willing to donate a small set o seeds for the raffle @ the growers seminar (see flag on home page for details) are more than welcome to do so. wsmpeace@bellsouth.net Peace, Wayne
