So.Cal. It happens, if people are willing to pay $100 plus for seeds, a dishonest person could make a killing! I often wander just how much of this goes on.

If that is the one you got from the PGPGA auction it is authentic. It came directly from Dave Stelts and no one else but me and the USPS ever handled it before it got to you as is the case with all of the seeds in our auction. All of our seeds come directly from the growers.

Having been involved with club auctions and three or four years of gpc auctions- I've never seen a faked or missrepresented seed.I have heard of one fake in a private trade. So be careful who you trade with.

cojoe you say right, but some years ago I got a fake one it was a 1385 Jutras I want not to say the name of auction the time is passed now, but in this silence autin was only one 1385 but during the last second of bid I was bid $250 but someone arrived some second before me so the auctioner told me: Sergio if you want I have one more I can give you for the same price$250 I told ok! but the thing was strange...... when I got the bubble I called via e mail Joe Jutras he tol me to send a picture of the seed, and after Joe told me Serg it is a fake one, send it to me and I will send one really to you I never will stop to thanks Joe for thisin the joe seed wre write 1385 in the one I got no! I know all auctions are good thanks God!! You are right you can't spend money and money for preparing patch and after plant a seeds that is not what you want to grow, and also after you make a cross and excange your seeds with other guy, but the cross is a fake one also, so, many people think to grow a seed that is not what thay want to grow.....

Bottom line is always keep your guard up. When you have seeds that go for the extreme prices we have you are always going to have bad apples. This site is a microcosm of life, you have good-bad-givers & takers and it's up to you to try your best to deal with those you can trust. When this thread first started I was waiting to see where it went because I was afraid the PGPGA was going to get dragged in the mud & that bothered me. I've been on this site for 12 years & have watched ( and respected) the work the PGPGA have done with their auctions. I believe they and the Ohio valley have the longest running auctions in the pumpkin community & They should be commended for the way they have handled it over the years. I know this may have went off topic but I didn't like their club being mentioned in the same thread as fake seeds. I'm very sure that was not the intent when it started but their are many new people on the site & I wanted to make sure every new member here knows they are very well run. Paul

1. dont trade with anyone you dont know. a few kooks out there. 2. auction off only seeds your club gets from the grower.
