This past year I used old panty hose to keep the solids in my tea from becoming floaties, that would clog my hose. It didn't work that great. I have thought using old pillow cases, any better suggestions? thanks KathyT

Interesting Kathy. I use panty hose every year and have zero debris. The only thing I find in the brew tank is a very fine silt that settles on the bottom.

well Monty...thats PROBABLY because you use new pantyhose bought for the tea and Jessica uses old pantyhose that may have been ruined with runs and holes....(but I don't know...I HAVE heard rumors about you and pantyhose.....lol)

I believe in cheap options. I have used a screened plastic handle strainer that rests on the rim of the bucket. I got into the habit of re-filtering the completed brew through another strainer before use so it really never bothered me that much. I have found that it is very hard to keep the brew clean enough to prevent clogging with an unfiltered batch. Filtering allows me to use a tank sprayer for foliar applications. I have used kelp and alfalfa meals in some of my blends and they will always required a bit of filtering after brewing.

LOL G! You're exactly right. You should see the look on the girls face at the counter when I buy 10 pairs.
