Im using a 25 gallon barrell and I have the mixture ratio down. Im using 4 fish pumps with air stones at the end of the tubes. Im gonna let it brew for at least 3 days before using the tea to spray with. A couple questions though? Does the container have to be covered during this process?? Should I stir the solution daily?? Thanks for any replies

I have found that the froth at the top can climb right out of the container if not covered.....I dont stir, others may be different. I have thought about a pump too but bio sludge may be a factor here. Keeping the compost barrel clean is a biggy to prevent E-coli bacteria down....Good Luck

Jason,
You can suspend the compost or ingredients in a nylon paint filter bag and remove it alot easier. Put an air stone in the bag to... 3 days sounds to long ecspeacially in your summer heat. Try you use larger volumes of air rather than extended brew times. I use about 4-6 cups material to about 20 gallons. My best finest blackest compost and worm castings mix. Its done in 18-24hrs. Just remember there are no absolutes when your dealing with mother nature.

Thanks for the replys. I have been researching Compost tea and it seems kindoff tricky. E-coli is not something I want to be brewing. Thanks again

Make sure your bag is 400 microns or larger so the fungi and protozoa can be extracted into the tea
