I was wondering what everyones farms look like. Maybe those who have them can post pics of them in their diaries or in the photo gallery. Also how long does it take for the working layer to be composted. I have seen people saying it takes up to a month or longer for them. How many layers does yours have and how big is it?

Worm activity depends greatly on the temperature. If it is outside like mine, two gallons of kitchen scraps will take nearly a month to "disappear". Of course, I have problems with rodents getting in the bin (4'X 5'X 30") as well....I think that they have developed a "taste" for worms! Anyway, in the Summer, things disappear about four times as fast.
