For those that have trouble with the sites image size restrictions(I do read all diaries) there area number free image reducing software available. Gimp and Irfanview are highly regarded. Just look up free image reducing software. Hope this helps.

It has been a few years since I have tried to make a post to my diary from the computer not my phone. The phone app makes it so easy...no resizing ever needed. I hope that this software is easy to use.

I just use the paint program on my laptop and resize photos there. I can save a copy on the reduced size without messing up the original.

A few years ago, the picture size limit here was 4mb. My Canon camera is capable of 24 megapixels. It looks like there are multiple ways to shrink the picture. Do you say by percentage, or specify the height x width pixels, or some other method to shrink it to BP specs.

I used Irfanview to shrink the pixel size of the picture but maintained aspect ratio. You are trying to down the resolution without changing picture size. Gimp is the one my tech neighbor uses. Most of this type of software should allow you to undo changes before it is saved. Also, if you copy it to gimp there should be the original in your picture folder.

Sure would be nice if one of the tech savvy people would jump in. I just fooled around till I got it under 4mb. Still looked decent when enlarged.

Paint in windows will work to resize the photos. Drop the pixel size to 1920 wide for a 1080P screen. I liked to size down to 1024 pixels wide after cropping the image. The end size is around 300K this way. Fast to upload if you are using a slow connection
