My last living pumpkin is still growing but I noticed a couple of light brown rot spots on the stem. I scraped them out - they weren't very deep - then I doused them with hydrogen peroxide. The fan is on now 24/7. The stem of this pumpkin is still green and full of moisture. It's seems similar in texture, firmness, and moisture content as a piece of celery. What more can I do?? I need to get 23 more days out of the stem. HELP!

Sulphur powder, captan powder..sounds like your on it..stronger the fan, quicker the healing. Good luck!

Definitely sounds like you're on the right track. I had to clean up a spot on my stem about a month ago. Dab the spot dry (may have to do this a couple times a day if it is being slow to heal over), sulphur powder and fan, as porkchop says.
