Bought Rootshield last year. Plant went south early so didn't use much of it. It's been in the fridge all year. It says it has a 1 year shelf life. Anyone no if it's completely worthless now or does it just loose some efficacy? The stuff costs a bunch so I don't want to toss it if it has some goodies left.

It should have an exasperation date on it or if you picked it up from Ron you can email him. If there's just a seral number, write that down and call the place you got it. Hopefully there's some good guys still moving around in there. I buy 40 pounds at a time and split it with friends to keep the cost down. I keep mine frozen until right before use, so if you've kept it cold you may still get some benefits.

It's not going to "go bad". Spore germination will decrease over time, and the warmer it is, the faster that process works.

I'm guessing their one year label is for standard room temp dropping it below a certain % effectiveness (50% maybe, who knows) so refrigeration should slow that decay.

I'd still use it. Maybe at a little higher rate than you normally would.

Thanks guys. As I said it's never been out of the fridge so I'm going to use it again this year and wait until next year to replenish. You can't hide money, can you Andy? So Cal. got 40 lb. and split it with friends - either he's loaded or has way to many friends. :)
