Is it common to cut a big blossom end off and dope it up with some sulfur captan or something of that nature if it looks like the pumpkin's going to grow over the blossom end.Are you big growers doing that? Any advice...thank you in advance,Randy

I've covered the blossom end with fungicide if it is being sucked under and have not cut them off. They usually are off the ground at the end of the season

In my experience the nubs dont seem more prone to rot than any other part of the pumpkin, but that could depend on your climate. I think I am as low humidity up here as you are in Cali. so I think you'll be ok, as long as you arent getting it soggy wet somehow.

You can cut it off and then have fungi growing into your kin and not know it. If you have blossom end and can see something happening then your better off. Just my opinion. Make you're decision when you can't see it. Never heard of anybody doing what you're asking but there are thousands of us growing!
