I'd like to give giant sunflowers a shot this summer and am wondering if any of you competition growers use anything to protect your sunflower heads from birds.

0nce the seeds mature we put a light burlap cloth over the best heads to 'try' and limit bird damage on by our best ones. Birds & Squirls gotta eat too so we plant double what we normally do.
