yes you shade watermelon but don't prune vines.

I prune my watermelon vines. I prune the growth after the melon is growing. Like the vine that goes beyond the melon. What kind of watermelons are you growing. Im growing Jubilee. I didnt know about shading the melons, what would you suggest creating shade? Can you just place some extra vines over the melon?
