Just a couple of quik questions. Do watermelon plants send out roots at each leaf node like pumpkin plant? What kind of soil does the Carolina Cross variety like best? oh 1 more Do they taste good?

I had a smaller Carolina cross watermelon, and it tasted like S#!+. It was grainy, and not very sweet.

Are the same principals applied to watermelons as are applied to AG's?Covering vines,etc.,etc.??

len s. told us at the niagra seminar that the giant watermelons will send out tap roots at the leaf nodes if covered the come on kind of slowly but do grow and have heard that they taste just fine i can let you know more this fall after i grow mine
